Driving Tip to Avoid Neck Pain
Feldenkrais Driving Tip - It's easy to put stress on your neck every time you look over your shoulder before changing lanes if you do it with no consciousness. Do the movement once. Notice how many of your upper vertebrae are turning. Now notice, does your breast bone turn or not, when you look over your shoulder? If not, you're probably making your neck muscles work overtime to turn your head in relationship to the heavy mass of your torso. And you know how overworked muscles can feel. That's right, cranky! Allow your breastbone to turn as well when you look over your shoulder and you'll distribute the effort to more of your vertebrae, preserving freedom in your neck muscles!
