What About Experimenting with Making Life Easier? - A Feldenkrais Approach

One of the BEST things about the Feldenkrais® Method is that it teaches people how to look for the easy way to do things. We often get into habits of going through our day, but are they really the best ones? Do you ever feel like life is hard? Do you always do things the way you're used to doing them? How resistant... are you to asking for help from people that might get your task done more quickly and easily?

I'm habitually a do-it-yourself type, so I admit I struggle with this one myself!  The way I'm trying to catch this bad habit in myself is to notice how long it takes me to complete a task and how much procrastination I'm capable of.  If it starts building up, that's a sure sign that I would be much better off having someone else do the task so my work energies can flow forward in more productive ways.

When life feels easy we are in the "Flow" and we feel good.  It's always possible to return to that state of being.  It just takes awareness and a choice.

Driving Tip to Avoid Neck Pain

Feldenkrais Driving Tip - It's easy to put stress on your neck every time you look over your shoulder before changing lanes if you do it with no consciousness.  Do the movement once.  Notice how many of your upper vertebrae are turning.  Now notice, does your breast bone turn or not, when you look over your shoulder?  If not, you're probably making your neck muscles work overtime to turn your head in relationship to the heavy mass of your torso.  And you know how overworked muscles can feel.  That's right, cranky! Allow your breastbone to turn as well when you look over your shoulder and you'll distribute the effort to more of your vertebrae, preserving freedom in your neck muscles!

Making The Impossible Possible!

I got so excited when one of my current clients shared his story with me last week.  Read this:

"I have been working with Bridget to improve motor skills using the Feldenkrais® method for the last month and a half. I have bursitis in my hips and foot pain in my right foot  My walking skills have improved significantly!  I recenty returned fom a trip to Chicago.  My plane arrived in S.F. at 12:15 and I only had 10 minutes to catch the airporter to Santa Rosa.  I ran through the terminal and made the connection. RAN!!!! I haven't been able to run in 9 years and  no pain!!!"  Richard Austin

The Feldenkrais® Method is so amazingly helpful!  Every time someone's life changes like this, I feel inspired to renew my efforts to spread the word about this amazing healing modality.

It will be a household name within my lifetime and if there is anything I can do about, within the next 5 years!
